Liberty School of Music

This is a new 130,000 square foot, 1,600 seat Concert Hall and School of Music that serves as the centerpiece on the Liberty University Campus. Conceived as a finely tuned, wood-lined chamber for natural acoustic musical performances, the Hall can also be configured to support a wide range of amplified events through sound dampening measures that can be deployed throughout the chamber.

VMDO Architects and Virtual Steel Technologies teamed up in early 2014 to develop the steel manufacturing model through model sharing. Because of the complex geometry of the performing arts structure, 2D images became impractical for the design review process of the manufacturing information. Design concepts and review were communicated through virtual model sharing. The results were an outstanding success.
